Can I bring my own medication to my dermatology appointment?
Green Square Dermatology generally does not administer medications supplied directly by patients. Medications used during procedures are normally supplied by the treating dermatologist or obtained through controlled pharmacy supply channels to ensure correct storage, sterility, and medication integrity.
Dermatologists consulting at Green Square Dermatology are independent specialists who determine their own clinical policies and treatment arrangements. While some doctors may have previously allowed patient-supplied medications, the treating dermatologist must be satisfied that any medication administered meets appropriate safety and handling standards.
In limited circumstances, a medication may be used if it has been supplied directly by a pharmacy and delivered to the clinic, rather than brought to the appointment by the patient. Any such arrangements must be made in advance with the dermatologist, and the medication must arrive unopened and in its original packaging.
Please do not bring medications to your appointment unless specifically requested by your dermatologist.
