Is a full skin check included in my consultation?

Edited

Not always.

If your appointment was booked for a specific concern, your consultation will generally focus on that issue as part of the course of treatment indicated in your referral.

A full skin check is a broader clinical assessment and is not automatically included unless it has been specifically requested and appropriately scheduled.

What if I would also like a full skin check?

If you would like a full skin check in addition to the condition for which you are attending, please let our reception staff know when booking.

Depending on the purpose of your existing consultation, a full skin check may require additional appointment time or a separate consultation.

Will a different consultation fee apply?

Possibly.

If the full skin check involves a broader clinical assessment outside your existing course of treatment, a consultation fee of $320 may apply instead of the usual $215 subsequent consultation fee.

Will I need a new referral?

If the full skin check represents a new or unrelated condition or course of treatment, a new referral is required for Medicare benefits to be claimed.

If you are unsure, please let our reception staff know that you would like a full skin check when arranging your appointment.
