Are approved workers compensation patients billed directly?
Direct billing to a workers compensation insurer is available only for existing active workers compensation patients whose billing arrangements have already been accepted by Green Square Dermatology.
Green Square Dermatology does not accept new patients under workers compensation billing arrangements.
What is required for direct billing?
For an existing workers compensation patient to continue under direct billing arrangements, we require the necessary claim and approval information before treatment is provided.
This generally includes:
the insurer or claims agent;
your workers compensation claim number;
the date of injury;
current approval for the consultation, treatment or procedure; and
any other information required to submit the account.
Where prior approval is required for a proposed treatment or procedure, we may need to receive written approval before the appointment can be arranged under workers compensation billing.
What if I receive treatment outside my workers compensation claim?
Workers compensation billing only applies to services that relate to the accepted claim and have been appropriately approved.
If you request assessment or treatment of a condition outside the scope of your workers compensation claim, you will be responsible for the applicable private patient fees.
What if my claim or approval details are incomplete?
If the required claim or approval information is unavailable, expired or cannot be confirmed, we may be unable to bill your insurer directly.
You may be required to attend as a private patient and pay the applicable fee at the time of service.
What if I am a new workers compensation patient?
New patients may still attend Green Square Dermatology as private patients.
Standard private fees apply and payment is required on the day of service. Any reimbursement you subsequently seek from your insurer is a matter between you and the insurer.
