How long is my initial consultation?

An initial consultation at Green Square Dermatology typically lasts around 15 minutes.

This usually allows enough time for your dermatologist to assess the condition for which you have been referred, review relevant medical history, and discuss diagnosis and management options.

Some consultations require additional time because of the complexity of the condition, the number of concerns discussed, or the need for more detailed explanation of treatment options and management plans.

Your dermatologist may adjust their consultation fee to reflect the scope and duration of the consultation. Depending on the circumstances, this may result in a higher or lower fee than the usual consultation fee.

If you would like your dermatologist to assess several conditions or concerns, please let our reception staff know when booking.

Discussing multiple or unrelated conditions may require a longer consultation, a separate appointment, or different referral and fee arrangements.

If a surgical treatment, laser procedure, or other treatment is recommended during your consultation, it may need to be scheduled for another day. This allows appropriate preparation and sufficient time to perform the procedure safely and appropriately.
