What if I have multiple skin problems?
You’re welcome to let us know if you have more than one skin concern that you would like your dermatologist to assess.
Dermatology consultations are scheduled for a defined period of time, and it may not always be possible to properly assess and manage several unrelated concerns during a single appointment. Depending on the number or complexity of the concerns, your dermatologist may recommend a further appointment.
What if I raise a new concern during an existing course of treatment?
If you are already receiving treatment for a particular condition and ask your dermatologist to assess a new or unrelated concern, this may fall outside your existing course of treatment.
A consultation fee of $320 may apply instead of the usual $210 subsequent consultation fee.
Will I need a new referral?
Possibly.
A referral generally relates to a particular condition or course of treatment. If you develop a new or unrelated condition, a new referral may be required before Medicare benefits can be claimed for its assessment or treatment.
An indefinite referral does not automatically cover every new dermatological concern that may arise in the future.
Let us know when booking
If you have several concerns you would like assessed, please let our reception staff know when booking.
This helps us allocate an appropriate appointment and advise you of any referral or fee requirements before you attend.
